In my artwork, I strove to capture the essence of a fleeting moment—when the dying light of the sun kisses the horizon. Using oil paints, I layered brushstrokes to create a dance between light and shadow, melding impressionism with a touch of abstraction. It's a piece that resonates with emotion and movement, inviting contemplation. The energy it exudes is of tranquil vitality, meant to breathe life and a sense of serene dynamism into any space. This painting shows a sand dune, a distant sunset and an impending storm,- a day in which we can place ourselves. This was created with oil and palette knives and brushwork offering direction and movement.
I find that in all of my paintings, I naturally incorporate drawing with the edge of my palette knife which disturbs calm and is completely intentional. I remove paint and add paint with the knife. I use the brush differently. It is used to give direction to the plane and create added texture to the surface of the artwork.
