In this piece, I utilized oil, pastel, charcoal, and colored pencil to capture the stark, yet serene beauty of architectural forms. The geometric lines and semi-abstract style emphasize the simple, raw geometry of spaces we inhabit. The minimal color palette invites viewers to reflect on the tranquility and isolation often found within our own solitudes. This artwork represents a contemplation on space, form, and the essence of belonging—perfect for bringing a sense of calm introspection to any home. I organize tumbling and juxtaposition of planes to direct the eye at entry and exit points of the painting. This painting is different from my other series as it is less organic. My planes, rather than a horizon, are my structure. I am intentional in how the shapes fit together and am not dividing the spaces excessively, which makes this a piece that is viewed up close and afar. Ships rolled with supports.
