Collection: PEAKED HILL
"The Cape Cod dune shack artist residency awarded by the Peaked Hill Trust was one of the most important experiences of my career. The historic district, located in the Outer Cape towns of Provincetown and Truro, comprises 1,950 acres of the Cape Cod National Seashore. The Dune Shacks of Peaked Hill Bars Historic District includes dune shacks that were home to American artists and writers from the 1920s to present day. The shacks are primitive — no electricity or indoor plumbing — and isolated, allowing for uninterrupted solitude and refuge. I lived in the Margo-Gelb shack for 2 weeks on the bluffs above the Atlantic ocean. I loved every moment of my time spent painting, cooking, drawing, swimming and enjoying the incredible view. The intent of my artist's proposal was to explore composition on a small scale with ink, oil, acrylic, pastel and pencil. There were 11 works on paper completed at the shack in this technique.
